There’s nothing better than summers in Wenatchee. From outdoor concerts to the Festival of Flight to street art and Pride, there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of long, sun-filled days. Best of all – these events are free.
Take a look!
Pangborn’s Festival of Flight – June 21 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
This family-friendly event is packed with high-flying fun at Pangborn Memorial Airport. The Festival of Flight honors a historic moment in aviation history: the first non-stop trans-Pacific by Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon in 1931. Their plane, Miss Veedol, took off from Misawa, Japan and landed right here in East Wenatchee after 41 hours in the air. There is a lot to learn, and space to wander and play – aircraft displays, hands-on aviation exhibits, Japanese cultural booths, live music, face painting, food trucks and more.
Wenatchee Pride Festival – June 21 from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Downtown’s Memorial Park transforms into a joyful, colorful celebration of love, identity, and community. Wenatchee’s Pride Festival continues to grow each year with over 70 vendors, live performances, and food trucks. Also, the beloved “Queer Garden”, serving beer, wine, and cider, returns.
Rock Island Rock Fest – June 28 from 1 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
There’s something for everyone at Rock Fest, held at Rock Island Golf Course – live music, food trucks, local artists, inflatables and clowns for the kids, and a beer & wine garden for the adults. Once the sun sets, the evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display.
Wenatchee Fourth of July Celebration – July 3 and 4, all day
Set along the Columbia River, it’s one of the most picturesque places to ring in Independence Day. This two-day celebration at Walla Walla Point Park is pure red, white and blue fun. Come for the music, food vendors, beer garden, pickleball tournament, and car show – stay for the showstopping fireworks display with the Wenatchee Valley Symphony playing along.
Columbia Street Mural Fest – August 9 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The first of its kind in the region, the Mural Fest is a live mural painting competition that features eight Washington-based artists – watch their work come to life in real time while you vote on your favorite design. You can also expect interactive art installations, a live DJ, a juice bar, beer garden, kid’s corner, and plenty of opportunities to get inspired.
Whether you’re here for the history, fireworks, or painted streets of downtown, summer in Wenatchee offers a little bit of everything – celebration, fun, and endless sunshine. Learn more about events in Wenatchee at https://www.visitwenatchee.org/events
