Inaugural Wenatchee Marathon Expo open to the general public

The TedDriven Wenatchee Marathon Expo coming up in two weeks isn't just for runners and their entourages. It's also for the general public.

More than 20 vendors, businesses and organizations will have booths at the inaugural expo on April 18 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. It's believed to be the first expo of its kind held in North Central Washington. There is no admission fee.

About 3,000 people are expected to attend the event, held the day before the 10th annual Wenatchee Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10K unfolds.

"It's going to be a pretty cool mix of booths, with a focus on outdoor fitness, health and the Wenatchee Valley," said Steve Maher of AdventureWenatchee, which is coordinating the expo on behalf of the Wenatchee Marathon. "We'll have businesses selling outdoor endurance sports gear, events and services, and organizations touting health and wellness and tourist activities."

The expo will be open from noon to 8 p.m. at the Wenatchee Convention Center’s Orchard Exhibit Hall North. The expo also will be the site of registration and packet

pickup for the more than 1,500 runners expected for the race. The start and finish of the marathon, half-marathon and 10K will be at Wenatchee Avenue and First Street, just outside the convention center. There are a limited number of booth spaces still available. If you are interested, please contact Maher at (509) 630-2090 or stephenmaher67@yahoo.com.
