The Wenatchee Valley is brimming with opportunities to keep your kids occupied during Spring Break this year. Whether you have a little scientist, athlete, artist or explorer in your home, there is a bit of something for everyone. Don’t let those brains sit idle--check out some of the local offerings:

The WVMCC is always coming up with creative ways to stretch the minds of students. This year’s spring break theme of “Sewapalooza” combines sewing and electronics, giving kids the opportunity to use a sewing machine and conductive thread to create wearable gadgets.Two separate classes will be offered: one for grades 3-5 and another for grades 5-7. Class sizes are purposefully small to ensure a great hands-on experience for each student.   • Paddle Camp
  • April 2nd-5th, 9am-12pm
  • Open to 4th-8th grade students

Learn the fundamentals of canoe and kayak paddling from the experts with the Wenatchee Row and Paddle Club.

  • Nature and Hiking Camp
  • April 2nd-6th, 9am-12pm
  • Open to 3rd-5th grade students

Explore the Wenatchee Foothills trails with experts from the Chelan Douglas Land Trust as guides. Students will learn about a variety of natural environment topics.

  • Spring Break Out Camp
  • April 2nd-6th, 12-5pm
  • Open to 1st-5th grade students

Just like day camp, but shorter! Spend the afternoon doing fun activities such as arts & crafts, games, sports and more.All camps cost $42/$46 and space is limited. Contact the City of Wenatchee office at (509) 888-3284 to register.

  • Eastmont Parks and Recreation is offering two different sport camps:
  • Strikers Baseball Camp
  • April 2nd-4th, 10am-12pm

Join the Strikers Baseball Team and Coaches during Spring Break and improve on skills and build new ones. This camp will be focusing on fun and looking specifically at pitching, fielding and hitting to get your baseball player ready for the upcoming season.Visit www.eastmontparks.com for more information and registration.

  • Basketball Camp and Rugrat Nation Basketball Camp
  • April 2nd-5th
  • 8 to 18 year olds 1-4pm and 5-7 year olds (“Rugrats”) 1-2:30pm

Two different age-appropriate camps are offered to help children improve dribbling, passing, shooting, offense and defense skills. This is a great camp for beginning and experienced players alike.Visit www.eastmontparks.com for more information and registration.

  • Wenatchee Valley YMCA “Out of Bounds” day camp
  • April 2nd-6th, 9am-4pm with 7:30am check-in available

Led by the Youth and Teen Center staff at the YMCA, “Out of Bounds” is an opportunity for kids to have fun on days when school is out. Students must bring a cold lunch, a swimsuit and towel, and dress for being outdoors with close-toed shoes.
