“Let’s Have a Blast in 2015!” is the motto of an Independence Day Celebration Committee that has been formed to plan and raise funding for a patriotic celebration of our country’s independence for the next several years, beginning July 4, 2015. The committee is seeking to raise money to go into a community fund that would be held at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. With the help of community businesses, service clubs, the local cities of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, Chelan and Douglas Counties, and the general public, we believe we can bring back an Independence Day Celebration in 2015. Look for fund-raising events during the year leading up to the 4th of July, including Make A Difference Day at Pybus Market on Saturday, October 25.In addition to the fireworks, a team of volunteers on the Independence Day Celebration committee will work to provide entertainment, food and other family friendly activities for a day-long event to celebrate our country’s Independence. Information for the planning of activities can be made by contacting Kelley Kennedy of Impact Events: kelley@impactevents.com, (509) 387-1411. Interested people are invited to join the committee to help.Like their Facebook page at Wenatchee Valley Independence Day Celebration.Contacts: Jan Lutz, Independence Day Celebration fund-raising co-chair. lutzgal@gmail.com, (509) 669-5808 Shiloh Schauer, Independence Day Celebration fund-raising co-chair, Executive Director of the Wenatchee Chamber of Commerce, shiloh@wenatchee.org, (509) 662-2116
