The Numerica Performing Arts Center is accepting financial aid applications for Summer Stage Kids 2015. This year’s summer camp program features three sessions taught by Stage Kids faculty and guest educators, June 22 through July 3, sponsored by Alcoa. Financial aid funding has been provided by Peoples Bank, Gellatly Properties / Dave and Sandy Gellatly, The Salmon Family, Rick and Sue Rose, and Kid Connect Magazine. Applications are available at the Numerica PAC box office.Summer Stage Kids offers an exciting summer camp program with comprehensive theater training that promises to be engaging, challenging, and inspiring. Sessions include hands-on involvement in a nurturing environment, special guest workshops, classes in voice, acting, and dance that culminate in a final performance for family and friends.Session One – “Wonka- tastic” For one week, campers, ages 4-5, will learn to explore their creativity through music, movement, acting games, arts and crafts. This camp gives kids a great introduction to theater arts in a nurturing and warm atmosphere using material from the classic “Willy Wonka.” There will be a short musical showcase for friends and family on the last day of camp. Registration is $90.Session Two – “Don’t Say No to the USO”For two weeks, campers, grades 3-10, will learn a 1 hour musical – a rousing tribute to all those who have served in the military, which will perform 2 shows at the Numerica PAC on July 3 at 7pm & July 4 at 2pm as part of the city-wide 4th of July Celebration. Registration is $415.Session Three – “Journey to Wonderland”For one week, campers, grades 1-8, will learn about the performing arts. They will learn a new set of skills to match their always active imaginations, and discover hidden talents with core workshops in voice, dance, and acting as they journey through songs and scenes from “Alice in Wonderland.” There will be a short musical showcase for friends and family on the last day of camp. Registration is $100-$210.Financial Aid applications are available at the Numerica PAC box office at the Stanley Civic Center, 123 N Wenatchee Avenue. Financial aid will be awarded to participants who attend public school, qualify for the free/reduced lunch program at school, and show interest in the art of theatre. Awards will cover up to 50% of the tuition cost of the program. Applications are due by June 1.
